Biography

Bernardo di Miceli, the son of Michele di Miceli and Serafina di Giglia, marries Maria Paternostro, the daughter of Arcangelo Paternostro and Giuseppa Mannina, on 26 September 1847 in Corleone.^[1]

Bernardo and Maria have at least three children: Michele (c. 1849), Arcangelo (c. 1850), and Vincenzo (c. 1867).

Michele is presumed to be the first born of the three; he is named after his paternal grandfather.

Arcangelo is born around 1850, based on his reported age at his second marriage.

Vincenzo is born around 1867, based on his age at emigration.

Michele marries for the first time to Maria Antonia Giuffrida, a widow, on 18 September 1877 in Corleone.^[2]

Arcangelo marries for the first time to Giuseppa Amato, on 22 April 1880 in Corleone.^[3]

Vincenzo marries Lucia Saporito on 11 September 1892 in Corleone.^[4]

Arcangelo remarries to his first cousin, Francesca Paola Mancuso, who is also a widow, on 15 December 1894 in Corleone. Arcangelo is 44 (b. 1850) and Francesca Paola is 39. Their mothers are sisters.^[5]
